Section 21-2-2 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1973, | 0016| Chapter 233, Section 2) is amended to read: | 0017| "21-2-2. DEFINITIONS.--As used in the Post-Secondary | 0018| Educational Planning Act: | 0019| A. "post-secondary education": | 0020| (1) means education, training or retraining | 0021| for persons sixteen years of age or older who have graduated | 0022| from secondary school or left elementary or secondary school | 0023| without graduating from secondary school, which is designed to | 0024| provide for ~[such]~ |those| persons: | 0025| (a) adult basic education; | - 1 - 0001| (b) high school equivalency education; | 0002| (c) pre-vocational education; | 0003| (d) vocational education; | 0004| (e) technical education; | 0005| (f) general academic education; | 0006| (g) undergraduate academic education | 0007| leading to associate's and bachelor's degrees; | 0008| (h) graduate academic education leading | 0009| to master's and doctor's degrees; | 0010| (i) undergraduate and graduate | 0011| professional education leading to professional degrees; | 0012| (j) continuing education; or | 0013| (k) some combination of the above; and | 0014| (2) includes public, private, nonprofit, | 0015| |tribal or federally created| and proprietary educational | 0016| institutions and programs of the following types, among | 0017| others: | 0018| (a) technical and vocational | 0019| institutes; | 0020| (b) junior colleges; | 0021| (c) branch community colleges; | 0022| (d) colleges and universities; | 0023| (e) post-secondary military institutes; | 0024| (f) post-secondary vocational schools; | 0025| (g) adult vocational and pre-vocational | - 2 - 0001| manpower and training programs; | 0002| (h) programs designed to identify | 0003| persons who can benefit from post-secondary education and to | 0004| assist them in enrolling in appropriate programs; ~[and]~ | 0005| (i) programs providing guidance, | 0006| counselling and placement services for persons in connection | 0007| with their participation in post-secondary education; and | 0008| |(j) the New Mexico campuses of post- | 0009| secondary educational institutions that are wholly owned and | 0010| controlled by a tribe located in whole or in part in New | 0011| Mexico; and| | 0012| B. "state commission" means the state commission | 0013| on post-secondary education." | 0014|  |
