APPROPRIATION.-- | 0016| A. Two hundred eighty thousand dollars ($280,000) | 0017| is appropriated from the general fund to the state department | 0018| of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 1999 for | 0019| the purpose of providing service learning training for | 0020| administrators and local school boards, expanding public | 0021| service learning initiatives in nine regions of the state and | 0022| infusing service learning pedagogy into the state department | 0023| of public education for the welfare of their communities. Any | 0024| unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of | 0025| fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general fund. | - 1 - 0001| B. All students, including students with | 0002| disabilities, shall be provided public service learning | 0003| opportunities in their school districts. The state department | 0004| of public education shall collaborate with the commission on | 0005| higher education to involve post-secondary institutions and | 0006| the New Mexico commission for national and community service | 0007| to ensure coordination and the use of federal Community | 0008| Services Act of 1974 funds. | 0009|  |
