            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY
                          L. SKIP VERNON               





FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN SENATE DISTRICT 15 IN ALBUQUERQUE IN BERNALILLO
COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:

          A.  two hundred eighty thousand dollars ($280,000) to design and renovate
Alvarado park in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

          B.  two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) to design, improve
and expand the Edna Ferguson library in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

          C.  one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) to design and renovate
Kiva park in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

          D.  two hundred seventy-five thousand dollars ($275,000) to complete
construction of the McKinley community center in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

          E.  two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to continue development and
construction of McKinley middle school park and Comanche fields in Albuquerque in Bernalillo
county; and

          F.  one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to design and construct
improvements to and renovate Zuni park in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

                    to the state highway and transportation department:

          A.  eight hundred forty thousand dollars ($840,000) to design and rebuild
aesthetic improvements to thirty-three interstate interchanges in Albuquerque in Bernalillo
county;




          B.  seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to complete construction documents
and complete construction on pilot projects on Comanche and Candelaria roads in Albuquerque
in Bernalillo county; and

          C.  one million dollars ($1,000,000) to design and construct alternative
transportation uptown transfer center in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; and

                    to the state department of public education:
     
          A.  one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000) to obtain computer
equipment for and install and equip technology improvements at Montezuma elementary school
in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; and

          B.  three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to obtain computer equipment for
and install and equip technology improvements at Del Norte elementary school in Albuquerque
in Bernalillo county.
