                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN SENATE DISTRICT 12 IN ALBUQUERQUE IN
BERNALILLO COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of
          finance and administration:
          
          A.  eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) to plan and
construct improvements to the Albuquerque sports stadium in
Bernalillo county;

          B.  one million dollars ($1,000,000) to construct the
<center>- 1 -</center>

Alvarado education and visitors' center, which would be incorporated
into the Alvarado transportation center, in Albuquerque in Bernalillo
county;

          C.  eight hundred fifty thousand dollars ($850,000) to
acquire and develop the Bel Air area park in Albuquerque in
Bernalillo county; and

          D.  one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to
design and renovate Mary Fox park in Albuquerque in Bernalillo
county; and

                    to the state highway and transportation department:
     
          A.  two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to
design and renovate the medians at Central avenue and Copper and at
Central avenue at Eighth street and Park in Albuquerque in Bernalillo
county;
          B.  five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to design and
construct improvements on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. boulevard in
Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

          C.  two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to design and
renovate landscaping and an irrigation system at the medians on Lomas
from Eighth street to Old Town in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

intersection of Edith and Lomas in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county.
