                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN SENATE DISTRICT 8 IN GUADALUPE COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
     
          A.  twenty-five million dollars ($25,000,000) to purchase the Santa Rosa prison
in Guadalupe county;  

          B.  two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to purchase heavy equipment
for Guadalupe county;

          C.  four hundred fifty thousand dollars ($450,000) to acquire land for and plan,

design or construct a public safety building in the city of Santa Rosa in Guadalupe county; 

          D.  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for building upgrades at the
chamber of commerce in the city of Santa Rosa in Guadalupe county;

          E.  two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to purchase a class A pumper
and fire truck for the Puerta de Luna fire department in Guadalupe county;

          F.  one hundred forty-three thousand five hundred dollars ($143,500) to plan,
design or construct an addition to the fire station at Puerto de Luna fire department in
Guadalupe county; and

          G.  one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to renovate the town hall in
Vaughn in Guadalupe county;

                    to the department of environment:
     
          A.  ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for domestic water system improvements for
the Los Sisneros water association in Guadalupe county;



          B.  one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for domestic water system
improvements for the Upper Delia well association in Guadalupe county;

          C.  six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) for south wastewater plant
improvements in the city of Santa Rosa in Guadalupe county; 

          D.  three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for domestic water system
improvements for table top water association in Guadalupe county;

          E.  four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) for a solid waste collection and
disposal system in Santa Rosa in Guadalupe county;

          F.  three hundred eighty thousand dollars ($380,000) to improve the Puerto de
Luna water system in Guadalupe county;

          G.  one million twenty-five thousand dollars ($1,025,000) for eastside waste
plant improvements in Santa Rosa in Guadalupe county;

          H.  thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) for Anton Chico water system
improvements, including design, equipment and installation, in Guadalupe county;

          I.  six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) to improve the sewer system in
Vaughn in Guadalupe county;

          J.  six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) for water line improvements in
Vaughn in Guadalupe county; and

          K.  two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to upgrade the drinking water

system for the La Loma water users' association in Guadalupe county;

                    to the state engineer:
     
                    thirty-three thousand dollars ($33,000) for dam and irrigation improvements to
          the east Puerto de Luna ditch in Guadalupe county;

                    to the state highway and transportation department:
          
                    one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to improve county road 3B in
          Guadalupe county; and






                    to the state department of public education:
     
          A.  one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) for seating at the
football field at Santa Rosa consolidated schools in Guadalupe county;

          B.  five hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($525,000) to plan, design or
construct a fine arts center at Santa Rosa consolidated schools in Guadalupe county;

          C  two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to plan, design or construct a
vocational complex to provide classroom and laboratory space at Santa Rosa consolidated
schools in Guadalupe county; and

          D.  fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000) for educational technology at Vaughn
municipal schools in Guadalupe county.
