FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN SENATE DISTRICT 8 IN SAN MIGUEL COUNTY.
I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:
to the energy, minerals and natural resources department:
sixty-six thousand dollars ($66,000) to remodel the forestry headquarters in San
Miguel county;
to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
A. one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for a technology upgrade at
the Rio Grande treatment center in San Miguel county;

B. two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($225,000) to purchase a fire truck
and plan, design or construct a substation for the Cabo Lucero volunteer fire department in San
Miguel county;
C. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to remodel the fire department and
community center in Gallinas in San Miguel county;
D. two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($225,000) to plan, design or
construct a fire station and to purchase a fire truck for the Tecolote fire department in San
Miguel county;
E. one million dollars ($1,000,000) to acquire water rights for the city of Las
Vegas in San Miguel county;
F. six hundred sixty thousand dollars ($660,000) for Arroyo Manteca land and
improvements for the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county;
G. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to acquire land along the Gallinas
river for the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county;
H. five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for improvements to Rodriguez
park in the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county;

I. two million seven hundred thousand dollars ($2,700,000) to acquire land for,
relocate or construct city hall in Las Vegas in San Miguel county;
J. one million one hundred eighty-eight thousand seven hundred dollars
($1,188,700) to renovate or construct the recreation center in the city of Las Vegas in San
Miguel county;
K. eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) to construct a county health
facility in San Miguel county;
L. twenty-seven thousand three hundred fifty dollars ($27,350) to expand and
equip the computer network system in San Miguel county;
M. one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to upgrade, expand and equip
the county computer network system in San Miguel county;
N. one hundred thirty-one thousand dollars ($131,000) to purchase vehicles for
the county sheriff in San Miguel county;
O. thirty-three thousand dollars ($33,000) to purchase safety equipment for
sheriff deputies in San Miguel county;
P. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to purchase a roll-off vehicle for
San Miguel county;

Q. seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) to renovate the courthouse in
San Miguel county;
R. one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to plan, design or construct a
volunteer fire department in Pecos canyon in San Miguel county;
S. forty-four thousand dollars ($44,000) to renovate or expand the Bernal
community center in San Miguel county;
T. four hundred ninety-three thousand dollars ($493,000) to plan, design or
construct various volunteer fire departments or substations in San Miguel county;
U. twenty-one thousand dollars ($21,000) to purchase a vehicle for district 4
offices in San Miguel county; and
V. three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) to purchase a geographic
information system for San Miguel county to assist in the cataloging of deeds, route
management for the solid waste collection system and analysis of land use in San Miguel county;
to the interstate stream commission:
forty-eight thousand seven hundred fifty dollars ($48,750) for a diversion dam in
El Pueblo in San Miguel county;

to the department of environment:
A. one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for domestic water system
improvements for the La Manga water association in San Miguel county;
B. twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) for domestic water system improvements
for the Las Gallinas water association in San Miguel county;
C. one hundred ninety thousand dollars ($190,000) for domestic water system
improvements for the Villanueva water users' association in San Miguel county;
D. one million seven hundred thousand dollars ($1,700,000) for an effluent line
for the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county;
E. one million two hundred thousand dollars ($1,200,000) for water line
replacements in the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county;
F. two million four hundred eighty-seven thousand four hundred dollars
($2,487,400) for a westside wastewater interceptor in the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel
county; and
G. five million four hundred thousand dollars ($5,400,000) for water and sewer
improvements in the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county;

to the state highway and transportation department:
A. ninety-six thousand two hundred dollars ($96,200) to upgrade county road
A20 to Ojitos Frios in San Miguel county;
B. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to pave Mullins drive in San Miguel
county;
C. seven hundred thirty-six thousand dollars ($736,000) for county road projects
in San Miguel county;
D. three hundred thirty-nine thousand nine hundred dollars ($339,900) to
improve Katheryn drive in the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county;
E. one hundred seventy-four thousand nine hundred dollars ($174,900) to
improve Kretz drive in the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county; and
F. four hundred sixty-eight thousand dollars ($468,000) to improve the east
Legion storm drain in the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county;
G. five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for storm drainage improvements
in the city of Las Vegas in San Miguel county;

H. one hundred eighty-seven thousand dollars ($187,000) to improve road B43-
B to San Ysidro in San Miguel county; and
I. one hundred nineteen thousand one hundred fifty dollars ($119,150) to
construct culverts in San Miguel county;
to the state department of public education:
A. three million one hundred two thousand dollars ($3,102,000) for phase two
improvements at West Las Vegas high school in San Miguel county;
B. three hundred four thousand one hundred thirty dollars ($304,130) for
educational technology and equipment at the West Las Vegas schools in San Miguel county;
C. three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to replace a bus and to renovate
or construct the maintenance facility at West Las Vegas schools in San Miguel county;
D. one million three hundred fourteen thousand dollars ($1,314,000) for
remodeling and an addition to the Valley elementary school of the West Las Vegas schools in
San Miguel county;
E. two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for educational technology at
Las Vegas city schools in San Miguel county;

F. two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to expand the cafeteria at
Legion Park elementary school in Las Vegas in San Miguel county; and
G. eighty-seven thousand dollars ($87,000) to purchase an activity bus for the
Las Vegas city schools in San Miguel county;
to the governing board of Luna vocational-technical institute:
A. two million dollars ($2,000,000) for disabled accessibility improvements at
Luna vocational-technical institute in San Miguel county;
B. three million two hundred thirteen thousand dollars ($3,213,000) for
construction at the education center of the main campus of Luna vocational-technical institute in
San Miguel county;
C. two million seven hundred thousand dollars ($2,700,000) to expand or
remodel the learning resource building of Luna vocational-technical institute in San Miguel
county; and
D. two million three hundred seventy thousand dollars ($2,370,000) to construct
an underground distribution system at Luna vocational-technical institute in San Miguel county;
and

to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university:
A. three million eight hundred thousand dollars ($3,800,000) to renovate the
Douglas school at New Mexico highlands university in San Miguel county;
B. ten million dollars ($10,000,000) to renovate the Lora Mangum Shield
science building at New Mexico highlands university in San Miguel county;
C. six million four hundred thousand dollars ($6,400,000) to acquire and design
the social work building at New Mexico highlands university in San Miguel county;
D. six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) for telecommunications
infrastructure at New Mexico highlands university in San Miguel county; and
E. five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to expand the golf course at New
Mexico highlands university in San Miguel county.
