REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN CURRY AND ROOSEVELT COUNTIES IN HOUSE DISTRICT 63.
I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:
to the state highway and transportation department:
one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to improve county roads in Curry
county;
to the state department of public education:
A. ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to construct, equip and furnish handicap
restrooms and special education classrooms in Clovis in Curry county;

B. twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to construct, equip and furnish a
teachers lounge at La Casita elementary school in Clovis in Curry county;
C. fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to purchase and install an air conditioner at
Lincoln Jackson elementary school in Clovis in Curry county; and
D. ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to purchase and install playground equipment
at Cameo elementary school in Clovis in Curry county;
to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
A. one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) to renovate the Curry
county courthouse;
B. two million dollars ($2,000,000) to acquire land and construct and equip the
Clovis landfill in Curry county;
to the state highway and transportation department:
one hundred fifty thousand for county road improvements in Roosevelt county;

to the state department of public education:
A. two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to construct, equip and furnish a
science laboratory at Portales high school in Roosevelt county;
B. eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) for baseball field lighting for Portales
school district in Roosevelt county;
C. thirty-three thousand dollars ($33,000) for playground improvements at
Lindsey grade school at Portales in Roosevelt county; and
D. ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to purchase and install playground equipment
at Steiner grade school at Portales in Roosevelt county;
to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
A. three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) to construct, equip and
furnish an addition to the Roosevelt county clinic complex and to landscape;
B. seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to make improvements to the
fairground in Roosevelt county; and
C. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to buy a building for the district
attorney in Roosevelt county.
