FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN UNION COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
          
                    sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) to make repairs and improve the county
          courthouse in Clayton in Union county;

                    to the state agency on aging:
     
                    two hundred nine thousand four hundred ninety-five dollars ($209,495) to
          construct, renovate, equip and furnish the Des Moines senior citizen center in
<center>- 1 -</center>

          Union county;

                    to the department of environment:
     

                    five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to design, construct and inspect water
          system improvements in the town of Clayton in Union county;

                    to the state highway and transportation department:
     
                    three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to improve U.S. highway 87,
          including drainage and subsurface water system construction, in the town of
          Clayton in Union county; and

                     to the state department of public education:
     
                    six million dollars ($6,000,000) to design, construct, equip and furnish school
          facilities for the Des Moines municipal school district in Union county.
