HOUSE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 288 
                                
                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY
                         EARLENE ROBERTS               





FOR CAPITAL OUTLAY IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the public school capital improvements fund:
     
          A.  seven million one hundred eighty thousand four hundred forty-five dollars 
($7,180,445) for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of the Public School Capital
Improvements Act.  This appropriation shall not revert; and

          B.  seven million five hundred thirty-four thousand nine hundred twenty-six
dollars ($7,534,926) for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of the Public School Capital
Improvements Act; provided that act is amended to increase the multiplier for the state

guarantee from thirty-five dollars ($35.00) to forty-five dollars ($45.00).  This appropriation
shall not revert;

                    to the public school capital outlay fund:
     
                    forty million dollars ($40,000,000) to be allocated by the public school capital
          outlay council to carry out the provisions of the Public School Capital Outlay Act. 
          This appropriation shall not revert.
