REQUESTED BY

FOR VARIOUS CAPITAL PROJECTS IN HOUSE DISTRICT 4 IN SAN JUAN COUNTY.
I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:
to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs:
A. three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to plan, design, construct and
equip a veterans memorial building complex in Shiprock in San Juan county;
B. one hundred seventy thousand dollars ($170,000) to plan, design, construct
and equip a new community park in Shiprock in San Juan county;
C. four hundred four thousand three hundred forty dollars ($404,340) for

improvements to the municipal sewer system in Shiprock in San Juan county;
D. seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) to plan, design, construct
and equip a head start building in Nenahnezad in San Juan county;
E. forty-five thousand dollars ($45,000) for improvements to Nizhoni municipal
part in Shiprock in San Juan county;
F. fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for health and safety improvements to
various outdoor recreation facilities, including drainage, concession and restroom facilities and
bleachers, at Upper Fruitland in San Juan county;
G. two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for health and safety
improvements to various outdoor recreation facilities, including softball fields, tracks, special
events fields and the rodeo arena at Naschitti in San Juan county;
H. five hundred forty thousand dollars ($540,000) to plan, design, construct and
equip a head start facility at Naschitti in San Juan county;
I. twenty-seven thousand dollars ($27,000) for purchase of a utility truck for the
community of Naschitti in San Juan county;

J. five hundred fifty-two thousand one hundred forty-five dollars ($552,145) for
improvements, repairs and extension of the solar electric system in the community of Naschitti
in San Juan county;
K. two hundred eight thousand dollars ($208,000) for purchase and equipping a
road grader for the community of Naschitti in San Juan county;
L. four hundred eighteen thousand dollars ($418,000) for weatherization and
other home improvements for low-income individuals in the community of Naschitti in San Juan
county; and
M. three hundred fifteen thousand dollars ($315,000) to provide electricity to
low-income individuals in the community of Naschitti in San Juan county;
to the state highway and transportation department:
seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) for improvements, including
paving, of various roads in the community of Shiprock in San Juan county;
to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
A. three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for purchase and installation of
traffic control lights at the intersection of United States highway 264 and United States highway
666 in the community of Shiprock in San Juan county; and

B. two hundred seventy-five thousand dollars ($275,000) for completion of
phase three of the street lighting project in Shiprock in San Juan county;
to the state agency on aging:
A. three hundred forty-nine thousand dollars ($349,000) to plan, design,
construct and equip a senior center in the community of Cudeii in San Juan county;
B. sixteen thousand five hundred dollars ($16,500) to purchase and equip a
four-wheel drive vehicle for the community of Cudeii in San Juan county;
C. thirty-two thousand dollars ($32,000) to purchase and equip a van for the
senior center at Nenahnezad in San Juan county;
D. three hundred eighty thousand dollars ($380,000) to plan, design, construct
and equip a multipurpose senior center building at Red Valley in San Juan county;
E. ninety-two thousand dollars ($92,000) to plan, design, construct and equip an
addition, including renovations to the existing building, to the senior center at Upper Fruitland
in San Juan county; and
F. fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) to purchase and equip a van for the senior

center at Upper Fruitland;
to the office of the state engineer:
A. one million dollars ($1,000,000) for siphons and other improvements to the
Yellowman system at Nenahnezad in San Juan county; and
B. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for purchase and installation of
irrigation pipe in the communities of Cudeii, Fruitland and Hogback in San Juan county; and
to the governing body of San Juan college:
one hundred fifty-two thousand dollars ($152,000) for campus improvements at
the San Juan college west center in Fruitland in San Juan county.
