0012|     RELATING TO PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH AND SAFETY; CREATING AN

0013|     ADDITIONAL JUDGE IN THE SIERRA COUNTY MAGISTRATE COURT; MAKING

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0017|          Section 1.  Section 35-1-30 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1968,
    |
0018|     Chapter 62, Section 32) is amended to read:
    |
0019|          "35-1-30.  MAGISTRATE COURT--SIERRA DISTRICT.--There
    |
0020|     shall be [one magistrate] two magistrates in Sierra magistrate
    |
0021|     district with a court in Truth or Consequences."
    |
0022|          Section 2.  APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars
    |
0023|     ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0024|     administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0025|     year 1999 for the purpose of paying salaries and benefits and
    |
<center>- 1 -</center>0001|     providing furniture, equipment and supplies for one magistrate
    |
0002|     judge in the Sierra magistrate district.  Any unexpended or
    |
0003|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999
    |
0004|     shall revert to the general fund.
