0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC

0012|     EDUCATION TO FUND TEACHER AND ADMINISTRATOR SUMMER ACADEMIES.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0017|     the state department of public education for expenditure in
    |
0018|     fiscal year 1999 for the purpose of funding teacher and
    |
0019|     administrator summer academies designed to provide
    |
0020|     participants with work-related experiences for use in
    |
0021|     classroom instruction.  Expenditure of this appropriation is
    |
0022|     contingent upon obtaining an equal or greater amount of
    |
0023|     matching funds from sources other than state funds.  Any
    |
0024|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0025|     fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general fund.
