0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR

0012|     HEALTH EDUCATION AND FOR POPULATION HEALTH RESEARCH.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--
    |
0016|               A.  Six hundred thirty-five thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($635,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board
    |
0018|     of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in
    |
0019|     fiscal year 1999 for the following purposes:
    |
0020|                    (1)  two hundred sixty-five thousand dollars
    |
0021|     ($265,000) for the area health education center to support<u>
</u>    |
<u></u>0022| <u>    </u>students in health care professions receiving training in
    |
0023|     rural and underserved areas of the state; and
    |
0024|                    (2)  three hundred seventy thousand dollars
    |
0025|     ($370,000) for population health research, education and
    |

0001|     service through the center for population health and for the
    |
0002|     master's of public health program.
    |
0003|               B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0004|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the
    |
0005|     general fund.
