0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO GATHER DATA ON THE HEALTH EFFECTS

0012|     OF URANIUM MINING ON CERTAIN URANIUM MINE WORKERS.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0017|     the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in
    |
0018|     fiscal year 1999 for the purpose of contracting with an
    |
0019|     organization in Shiprock to gather data and identify the
    |
0020|     effects of uranium mining on uranium mine workers in northwest
    |
0021|     New Mexico.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
    |
0022|     at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general
    |
0023|     fund.
