0016| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0017| Section 1. Section 29-2-16 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1941,

0018| Chapter 147, Section 15, as amended) is amended to read:

0019| "29-2-16. STATE POLICE SCHOOL--COMPENSATION.--

0020| A. Before entering upon his duties, every

0021| appointee to the New Mexico state police shall be required to
|
0022| attend for a period of at least ninety days a school of
|
0023| instruction approved by the [New Mexico state police board]

0024| chief of the state police. The chief may approve a shortened
