0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  A new section of Chapter 30, Article 18 NMSA
    |
0017|     1978 is enacted to read:
    |
0018|          "[<u>NEW MATERIAL</u>] INJURY TO LIVESTOCK.--
    |
0019|               A.  Injury to livestock consists of willfully and
    |
0020|     maliciously poisoning, killing or injuring livestock that is
    |
0021|     the property of another.
    |
0022|               B.  As used in this section, "livestock" means
    |
0023|     cattle, sheep, buffalo, horses, mules, goats, swine and
    |
0024|     ratites.
    |
0025|               C.  Whoever commits injury to livestock is guilty
    |

0002|          Section 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the

0003|     provisions of this act is July 1, 1998.
