PUBLIC SERVICES--COUNTY RESIDENTS--OPT-OUT | 0016| PROVISION.-- | 0017| A. A resident of the unincorporated area of a | 0018| county may notify the office of the county manager of the | 0019| county in which the resident resides that he chooses to opt | 0020| out of a public service provided by the county. | 0021| B. A county shall not provide or shall discontinue | 0022| at the end of the next billing cycle a public service to a | 0023| county resident upon notification by the resident that he | 0024| chooses to exercise his option not to receive that public | 0025| service. |

The county shall not charge a county resident a | 0002| fee for a public service if the resident has notified the | 0003| county that he chooses not to receive that public service. | 0004| The county may charge fees for any public service that was | 0005| provided to the resident prior to receipt of notice of the | 0006| resident's option to discontinue the public service. | 0007| D. As used in this section, "public service" means | 0008| the curbside or home collection of solid waste. | 0009| Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public | 0010| peace, health and safety that this act take effect | 0011| immediately. | 0012|  |
