LEGISLATIVE SESSION RESERVE FUND.-- | 0018| A. The "legislative session reserve fund" is | 0019| created in the state treasury. Interest earned on investment | 0020| of the fund shall be credited to the fund, and the fund shall | 0021| not revert at the end of any fiscal year. Money in the fund | 0022| is appropriated to the legislative council service to pay the | 0023| salaries of temporary legislative session employees when | 0024| passage and signing of House Bill 1 or similar legislation is | 0025| delayed or is vetoed. |

If money in the fund is not sufficient to pay | 0002| the salaries of temporary session employees in full, or if the | 0003| legislative council service believes that more than one pay | 0004| period will have to be paid from the fund, the legislative | 0005| council service shall pay a pro rata share of salary due to | 0006| each employee in a pay period. | 0007| Section 2. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars | 0008| ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the | 0009| legislative session reserve fund for expenditure in any fiscal | 0010| year in which appropriations to pay temporary legislative | 0011| session employees are delayed. Any unexpended or unencumbered | 0012| balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert | 0013| to the general fund. | 0014| Section 3. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public | 0015| peace, health and safety that this act take effect | 0016| immediately. | 0017|  |
