       Your AGRICULTURE AND WATER RESOURCES COMMITTEE, to
  whom has been referred
  
                        HOUSE BILL 290
  
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
       1.  On page 1, line 17, strike "department of
  environment" and insert in lieu thereof "office of the state
  engineer".
  
       2.  On page 1, line 20, after the period insert: 
  
       "The state engineer may contract for services for the
  project.".
  
       3.  On page 1, line 22, after the period insert:
  
       "The state engineer shall report his findings to the
  appropriate committee of the legislature by December 1,
  2000.".,
  
  and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE
  COMMITTEE.
