0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE ENGINEER TO ASSIST THE

0012|     TAOS VALLEY ACEQUIA ASSOCIATION AND THE RIO DE CHAMA ACEQUIA

0013|     ASSOCIATION IN DEVELOPING REGIONAL ACEQUIA GEOGRAPHIC

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0017|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred five thousand
    |
0018|     dollars ($105,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0019|     the office of the state engineer for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0020|     year 1999 for the purpose of assisting the Taos Valley acequia
    |
0021|     association and Rio de Chama acequia association in developing
    |
0022|     pilot regional acequia geographic information systems to be
    |
0023|     compatible with the statewide geographic information system
    |
0024|     currently being developed by the office of the state engineer.
    |
0025|     No more than five percent of the appropriation may be expended
    |

0001|     by the office of the state engineer for administrative costs
    |
0002|     incurred in the administration of the appropriation.  The
    |
0003|     balance of the appropriation shall be disbursed equally to the
    |
0004|     Taos Valley acequia association and the Rio de Chama acequia
    |
0005|     association.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
    |
0006|     at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general
    |
0007|     fund.
