0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO LIVESTOCK BOARD TO

0012|     IMPLEMENT THE LIVESTOCK INSPECTOR SERIES RECLASSIFICATION

0013|     PLAN; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($75,000) is appropriated from the New Mexico livestock
    |
0018|     board's cash balances to the board's interim receipts and
    |
0019|     disbursement fund for expenditure in fiscal years 1998 through
    |
0020|     2000 to implement the livestock inspector series
    |
0021|     reclassification plan with salary changes consistent with
    |
0022|     compa-ratio levels for those inspectors whose salaries are
    |
0023|     currently within the range of their proposed grade and salary
    |
0024|     increases up to a minimum level for those inspectors whose
    |
0025|     current salaries are below the minimum of their proposed
    |

0001|     grade.  The positions shall be budgeted in the base budget
    |
0002|     request for subsequent years.  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0003|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal 2000 shall revert to
    |
0004|     the New Mexico livestock board's general fund.
    |
0005|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0006|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect
    |
0007|     immediately.
