0011|     RELATING TO STATE PARKS; PROHIBITING FEES FOR DAY USE OF STATE

0012|     PARKS; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  Section 16-2-7 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1935,
    |
0016|     Chapter 57, Section 7, as amended) is amended to read:
    |
0017|          "16-2-7.  RULES AND REGULATIONS.--The secretary shall
    |
0018|     promulgate and adopt rules and regulations for each park as
    |
0019|     circumstances may demand to the end that each park may be made
    |
0020|     as nearly self-supporting as possible; <u>provided, however,
</u>    |
<u></u>0021| <u>    that no fee shall be imposed for day use of a state park</u>."
    |
0022|          Section 2.  APPROPRIATION.--Nine hundred twenty-six
    |
0023|     thousand dollars ($926,000) is appropriated from the general
    |
0024|     fund to the state parks division of the energy, minerals and
    |
0025|     natural resources department for expenditure in fiscal year
    |

0001|     1999 for the purpose of supplanting fees from day use of state
    |
0002|     parks.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
    |
0003|     the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general fund.
