0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CRIME VICTIMS REPARATION

0012|     COMMISSION TO CONTRACT FOR SERVICES FOR A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

0013|     LEGAL HELP LINE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred twenty thousand
    |
0017|     dollars ($120,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0018|     the crime victims reparation commission for expenditure in
    |
0019|     fiscal years 1998 and 1999 for the purpose of contracting for
    |
0020|     services to operate a statewide domestic violence legal help
    |
0021|     line to provide victims of domestic violence toll-free
    |
0022|     telephone access to information concerning their legal rights
    |
0023|     and responsibilities.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0024|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the
    |
0025|     general fund.
