      Your RULES COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
  
                           HOUSE BILL 172
  
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
      1.  On page 2, line 13, strike "in" and insert "for".
  
              2.  On page 2, line 16, after the period, insert a new
  sentence: "If a legislator has no applicant from his or her
  district, that senator or representative may choose to nominate
  an applicant from a senate or representative district contiguous
  to his or her own, thus maintaining geographical diversity in
  the corps of cadets while affording a greater opportunity for
  more New Mexicans to receive a scholarship".
