0011| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR VARIOUS SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS

0012| THROUGHOUT NEW MEXICO.

0014| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0015| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
|
0016| A. Six million six hundred forty-two thousand
|
0017| seven hundred fifty-six dollars ($6,642,756) is appropriated
|
0018| from the general fund to the state agency on aging for
|
0019| expenditure in fiscal year 1999 for the following purposes and
|
0020| in the following amounts:
|
0021| (1) five million four hundred twenty-three
|
0022| thousand nine hundred one dollars ($5,423,901) to the six area
|
0023| agencies on aging for senior services, including case
|
0024| management, respite care, Alzheimer's respite care, adult
|
0025| daycare, congregate meals, home delivered meals,
|

0001| transportation and in-home services;
|
0002| (2) six hundred seventy-four thousand two
|
0003| hundred thirty-three dollars ($674,233) to provide increased
|
0004| volunteer positions for the foster grandparent, senior
|
0005| companion and RSVP programs;
|
0006| (3) eighty-seven thousand two hundred
|
0007| seventy-two dollars ($87,272) for increased information and
|
0008| assistance and consultation and education services for
|
0009| individuals with Alzheimer's disease or related disorders and
|
0010| their families or caregivers;
|
0011| (4) twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000)
|
0012| for statewide senior citizen olympics activities;
|
0013| (5) two hundred twenty-six thousand one
|
0014| hundred dollars ($226,100) for statewide long-term care
|
0015| ombudsman services; and
|
0016| (6) two hundred six thousand two hundred
|
0017| fifty dollars ($206,250) for increased health insurance and
|
0018| public benefits counseling efforts using peer counselors,
|
0019| especially to assist older individuals to access the medicaid
|
0020| managed care system.
|
0021| B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
|
0022| remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the
|
0023| general fund.
