Your APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom
has been referred
HOUSE EDUCATION COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL
124
has had it under consideration and reports same with
recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On pages 4 and 5, strike Subsection E in its entirety and
insert in lieu thereof:
"E. coordinate statewide planning efforts, in collaboration
with regional area school-to-work partnerships, including
representatives of public post-secondary education, business,
industry, government agencies and others involved in career education
and work force development to ensure effective and efficient use of
state and federal resources to sustain the school-to-work system
beyond the federal grant period and meet the career guidance
requirements;".
2. On page 5, line 8, strike the period and insert in lieu
thereof "; and".
3. On page 5, between lines 8 and 9, insert:
"G. through the accreditation process, monitor public
school compliance with the requirements of the Career Education
Opportunities in Work Force Development Act and provide technical
assistance to school districts whose education program does not meet
the career education requirements.".
4. On page 8, line 22, strike "1998" and insert in lieu thereof
"2001".
