0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF THE

0012|     DISTRICT ATTORNEYS TO HIRE ADDITIONAL STAFF FOR DOMESTIC

0013|     VIOLENCE PROGRAMS.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--
    |
0017|               A.  Two million two hundred seven thousand eight
    |
0018|     hundred ninety-seven dollars ($2,207,897) is appropriated from
    |
0019|     the general fund to the administrative office of the district
    |
0020|     attorneys for expenditure in fiscal year 1999 for the purpose
    |
0021|     of establishing or expanding domestic violence programs.  Any
    |
0022|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0023|     fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0024|               B.  The money shall be distributed by the
    |
0025|     administrative office of the district attorneys as follows:

0002|     hundred thirty-three dollars ($236,133) to the first judicial
    |
0003|     district attorney's office for six permanent full-time-
    |
0004|     equivalent positions and operating expenses;

    |
0006|     hundred dollars ($375,300) to the second judicial district
    |
0007|     attorney's office for eight permanent full-time-equivalent
    |
0008|     positions and operating expenses;
    |
0009|                    (3)  one hundred twenty-three thousand four
    |
0010|     hundred fifty-one dollars ($123,451) to the third judicial
    |
0011|     district attorney's office for three permanent full-time-
    |
0012|     equivalent positions and operating expenses;
    |
0013|                    (4)  one hundred twenty-six thousand eight
    |
0014|     hundred nineteen dollars ($126,819) to the fourth judicial
    |
0015|     district attorney's office for three permanent full-time-
    |
0016|     equivalent positions and operating expenses;

    |
0006|     judicial district attorney's office for five permanent full-
    |
0007|     time-equivalent positions and operating expenses.

0008|          Section 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the
    |
0009|     provisions of this act is July 1, 1998.
