0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND STATEWIDE HOMELESS PROGRAMS.

0013|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0014|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred
    |
0015|     thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general
    |
0016|     fund to the human services department for expenditure in
    |
0017|     fiscal year 1999 to provide or contract for community-based
    |
0018|     programs and services that provide homeless people with a
    |
0019|     continuum of care, including emergency shelter beds; services
    |
0020|     for veterans, the jobless, the mentally ill and victims of
    |
0021|     domestic violence; outreach for homeless not in shelters;
    |
0022|     transportation; transitional housing, including such service
    |
0023|     for homeless teenage mothers and alcoholics; and case
    |
0024|     management.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
    |
0025|     at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general
    |
