  Mr. Speaker:
  
       Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
  
                        HOUSE BILL 69
  
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
       
       1.  On page 1, line 12, after "COSTS" insert "AND OTHER
  FACTORS AFFECTING COST OF LIVING, RECRUITMENT, AND RETENTION".
  
       2.   On page 1, lines 15 and 16, strike "Fifty thousand
  dollars ($50,000)" and insert in lieu thereof "Seventy-five
  thousand dollars ($75,000)".
  
       3.  On page 1, line 19, strike the first occurrence of
  "a" and insert in lieu thereof "an independent".
  
       4.   On page 1, line 20 after "costs" insert "and other
  factors affecting cost of living, recruitment, and
  retention".,
  
  
  and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE
  COMMITTEE.
