0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT ACQUISITION OF NEW MEXICO'S

0012|     WATER ALLOCATION FROM THE GILA RIVER PURSUANT TO THE CENTRAL

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal years
    |
0019|     1999 and 2000 for the purpose of assessing the needs of small
    |
0020|     users in southwest New Mexico to support acquisition of
    |
0021|     eighteen thousand acre feet of Gila river water from the United
    |
0022|     States bureau of reclamation pursuant to the central Arizona
    |
0023|     project component of the federal Colorado River Basin Project
    |
0024|     Act.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the
    |
0025|     end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
