0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0017|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred forty-four
    |
0018|     thousand five hundred ten dollars ($744,510) is appropriated
    |
0019|     from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico
    |
0020|     state university for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for the
    |
0021|     purpose of funding stipends for graduate assistants.  Any
    |
0022|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0023|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
