0011| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE EDUCATION SERVICES TO DEAF

0012| STUDENTS FOR AUDITORY SCHOOLING.

0014| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0015| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars
|
0016| ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
|
0017| department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year
|
0018| 1998 for the purpose of contracting to provide auditory
|
0019| schooling for deaf students. Any unexpended or unencumbered
|
0020| balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert
|
0021| to the general fund.

0009| FOLLOW-UP TREATMENT TO COCHLEAR-IMPLANTED DEAF STUDENTS.

0011| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0012| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars
|
0013| ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human
|
0014| services department for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for the
|
0015| purpose of contracting with private agencies to provide
|
0016| auditory oral education and follow-up treatment to deaf
|
0017| students who have been treated surgically with multi-channel
|
0018| cochlear implants. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
|
0019| remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the
|
0020| general fund.

|
