0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO NATIVE

0012|     AMERICAN STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE TEACHING PROGRAM AT THE

0013|     GALLUP BRANCH OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of
    |
0018|     regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in
    |
0019|     fiscal years 1998 and 1999 for the purpose of providing grants
    |
0020|     and scholarships to Native American students enrolled in the
    |
0021|     teacher program at the Gallup branch campus of the university
    |
0022|     of New Mexico located in McKinley county.  Any unexpended or
    |
0023|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999
    |
0024|     shall not revert to the general fund.
