0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE EXPANSION OF A PROJECT TO

0012|     REDUCE VIOLENCE TO AND ABUSE OF CHILDREN BY INVOLVING THE

0013|     PUBLIC IN EVALUATING AND RATING TELEVISION PROGRAMMING;

0014|     DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0017|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Eighty thousand dollars
    |
0018|     ($80,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0019|     children, youth and families department for expenditure in
    |
0020|     fiscal years 1997 and 1998 for the purpose of expanding a
    |
0021|     project in Santa Fe county designed to reduce violence to and
    |
0022|     abuse of children by involving the public in evaluating and
    |
0023|     rating television programming.  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0024|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert
    |
0025|     to the general fund.
    |
0001|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0002|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
