  SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number _______ to SENATE BILL 477
  
  Amendment sponsored by Senator Ben D. Altamirano 
  
  
      1.  On page 1, line 11, after the semicolon strike the
  remainder of the line and strike line 12 through the semicolon.
  
      2.  On page 1, strike lines 17 though 25, strike all of pages 2
  through 6 and insert in lieu thereof:
  
      "Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--
  
          A.  The following amounts are appropriated from the general
  fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in
  fiscal year 1998 for the following purposes:
  
               (1)  one hundred seventy thousand dollars ($170,000)
  for supplemental funding; and
  
               (2)  four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) for
  supplemental funding of the magistrate courts.
  
          B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the
  end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.".
