  Mr. Speaker:
  
       Your VOTERS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE, to whom has
  been referred
  
                       SENATE BILL 274
                               
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
       1.  On page 11, line 19, strike "A" and insert in lieu
  thereof:
  
  "At the school board election following the designation of a school
  as an area vocational school by the state board, members of the
  board elected to positions 1, 3 and 5 shall be elected for two-year
  terms and members elected to positions 2 and 4 shall be elected for
  four-year terms.  Thereafter, each".
  
       2.  On page 12, line 22, strike the comma and insert in lieu
  thereof ", or March 1, 2001,".
  
       3.  On page 12, line 23, strike the period, strike "On that
  date," and insert in lieu thereof "and until December 1, 2001,
  respectively.  On those dates,".
