0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE FOR

0012|     THE SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT TO EXPAND THE OPERATIONS OF THE

0013|     GANG PROSECUTION UNIT.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred twenty-four
    |
0017|     thousand two hundred dollars ($524,200) is appropriated from
    |
0018|     the general fund to the district attorney's office for the
    |
0019|     second judicial district for expenditure in fiscal year 1998
    |
0020|     for the purpose of paying salaries and benefits and providing
    |
0021|     furniture, equipment and supplies for eleven full-time
    |
0022|     employees, who will be the staff for the expanded gang
    |
0023|     prosecution unit.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0024|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the
    |
0025|     general fund.
