0011| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE STATEWIDE INDEPENDENT LIVING

0012| SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.

0014| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0015| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars
|
0016| ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
|
0017| vocational rehabilitation division of the state department of
|
0018| public education for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for the
|
0019| purpose of purchasing equipment, supplies, home modifications
|
0020| and other related services that are unavailable through other
|
0021| resources for persons with disabilities to maintain or promote
|
0022| individual independence. The division of vocational
|
0023| rehabilitation of the state department of public education, in
|
0024| conjunction with the statewide independent living council,
|
0025| shall conduct a competitive application and review process or
|
0001| continue state-funded programs to award funds for individual
|
0002| projects. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
|
0003| the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
