0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ESTABLISH THE ARTS OF THE AMERICAS

0012|     INSTITUTE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars
    |
0016|     ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board
    |
0017|     of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in
    |
0018|     fiscal year 1998 for the purpose of establishing the arts of
    |
0019|     the Americas institute in the college of fine arts at the
    |
0020|     university of New Mexico to promote recognition, acceptance and
    |
0021|     understanding of the many different arts in the western
    |
0022|     hemisphere.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
    |
0023|     at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general
    |
0024|     fund.
