0011|     RELATING TO CAPITAL EXPENDITURES; EXTENDING THE EXPENDITURE

0012|     PERIOD OF AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE STATE ENGINEER

0013|     TO MAKE REPAIRS TO UTE DAM; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|               Section 1.  APPROPRIATION--OFFICE OF STATE ENGINEER-
    |
0017|     -EXTENDING EXPENDITURE PERIOD.--The period of time for
    |
0018|     expenditure of an appropriation made pursuant to Laws 1996 (1st
    |
0019|     S.S.), Chapter 11, Section 3 of four hundred thousand dollars
    |
0020|     ($400,000) from the subsequent injury fund to the office of the
    |
0021|     state engineer for the purpose of making repairs to Ute dam
    |
0022|     shall be extended through fiscal year 1998.  Any unexpended or
    |
0023|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998
    |
0024|     shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0025|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public 
    |
0001|     
    |
0002|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
