0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO

0012|     SUPPORT THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE CAPABILITIES OF LOCAL AND STATE

0013|     RESPONDERS TO ACCIDENTS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Eight hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($800,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     department of public safety for expenditure in fiscal years
    |
0019|     1997 and 1998 for the purpose of supporting the emergency
    |
0020|     response capabilities of state and local responders to
    |
0021|     accidents, as provided in Subsection E of Section 74-4B-4 NMSA
    |
0022|     1978.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the
    |
0023|     end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0024|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0025|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
