0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE INTERSTATE STREAM COMMISSION FOR

0012|     DESIGN OF A SYSTEM TO METER WATER DIVERSIONS AND USES WITHIN

0013|     THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE CONSERVANCY DISTRICT.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Forty thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($40,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0019|     1998 for the purpose of designing a system to meter surface
    |
0020|     water diversions and return flows, and uses within the middle
    |
0021|     Rio Grande conservancy district, including a cost estimate for
    |
0022|     the installation, maintenance and operation of the metering
    |
0023|     system.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
    |
0024|     the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
