0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CREATE OR EXPAND COMMUNITY-BASED

0012|     LEARNER CENTERS, TO DEVELOP REGIONAL CONSORTIA LINKING GROUPS

0013|     AND TO EXPAND THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY BY UNIVERSITIES AND

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0017|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Nine hundred forty-one
    |
0018|     thousand six hundred sixty dollars ($941,660) is appropriated
    |
0019|     from the general fund to the extended learning fund for
    |
0020|     expenditure in fiscal years 1998, 1999 and 2000 for the purpose
    |
0021|     of creating or expanding community-based learner centers
    |
0022|     throughout the state, developing regional consortia linking
    |
0023|     groups of secondary schools, local two-year educational
    |
0024|     institutions, four-year educational institutions and other
    |
0025|     educational agencies and expanding the use of technology by
    |
0001|     universities and colleges to provide instruction targeted at
    |
0002|     state-level and regional needs such as teacher certification,
    |
0003|     professional development, social work and health-care training. 
    |
0004|     Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0005|     fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
