0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE EXPANSION OF ADULT BASIC

0012|     EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND SERVICES IN RURAL AREAS.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0017|     state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0018|     year 1998 to provide or contract for expansion of the adult
    |
0019|     basic education programs and services in rural areas of the
    |
0020|     state, including one full-time employee to administer the adult
    |
0021|     basic education programs.  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0022|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert
    |
0023|     to the general fund.
