  Mr. Speaker:
  
       Your TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been
  referred
  
                        HOUSE BILL 400
  
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
       1.   On page 2, lines 6 and 7, strike "twenty-five dollars
  ($25.00)" and insert in lieu thereof "thirty-five dollars ($35.00)".
  
       2.   On page 2, line 11, strike "twenty-five dollar ($25.00)"
  and insert in lieu thereof "thirty-five dollar ($35.00)".
  
       3.   On page 2, strike lines 16 through 19 and insert in lieu
  thereof the following:
  
            "D.  Ten dollars ($10.00) of the fee collected pursuant
  to Subsection C of this section shall be retained by the department
  and is appropriated to the department to defray the cost of making
  and issuing the special registration plates authorized by this
  section.  Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 66-6-22.1 NMSA
  1978, the remainder of the fee collected pursuant to Subsection C of
  this section shall be paid to the state treasurer for credit to the
  state tourism fund.",
  
  and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE
  COMMITTEE.
