0011| RELATING TO DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE; REQUIRING PARTICIPATION IN

0012| COUNSELING.

0014| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0015| Section 1. COUNSELING REQUIRED PRIOR TO DISSOLUTION OF
|
0016| MARRIAGE.--
|
0017| A. In any proceeding for the dissolution of
|
0018| marriage in which a judgment or decree will be entered awarding
|
0019| the custody of a minor, the court shall require that the
|
0020| parties undergo counseling. Costs for the counseling shall be
|
0021| paid by the parties and may be allocated between the parties as
|
0022| determined by the court.
|
0023| B. Any deviation from the counseling requirement
|
0024| set forth in Subsection A of this section shall be supported by
|
0025| a written finding in the decree for dissolution of marriage
|
0001| that application of this requirement would be unjust or
|
0002| inappropriate.
