0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($700,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
    |
0018|     department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0019|     1998 for the purpose of purchasing computer hardware and
    |
0020|     software and paying training costs associated with the
    |
0021|     expansion of an accountability information system pilot project
    |
0022|     currently being conducted in local school districts around the
    |
0023|     state.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the
    |
0024|     end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
