0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE FOR A STUDY PERTAINING TO

0012|     THE CAPITAL OUTLAY NEEDS OF NEW MEXICO'S PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars
    |
0016|     ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
    |
0017|     department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0018|     1998 for the purpose of enabling the public school capital
    |
0019|     outlay council to contract for a comprehensive review and
    |
0020|     assessment of public school buildings statewide and to prepare
    |
0021|     a comprehensive capital outlay needs assessment for public
    |
0022|     school buildings statewide.  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0023|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert
    |
0024|     to the general fund.
