0011| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION

0012| FOR COMMUNITY-COLLEGE-BASED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS PROVIDING HIGH

0013| TECHNOLOGY TRAINING.

0015| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0016| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars
|
0017| ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
|
0018| commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year
|
0019| 1998 for the purpose of developing, expanding and supporting
|
0020| broad-based entry-level high technology training programs at
|
0021| community colleges statewide, including instructors, curriculum
|
0022| implementation, laboratory development, equipment operation and
|
0023| maintenance support. Each community college that receives
|
0024| funds for the program shall provide an equal amount of funding
|
0025| from a source other than the general fund. Any unexpended or
|
0001| unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998
|
0002| shall revert to the general fund.

0001| rating criteria developed in consultation with the New Mexico
|
0002| association of community colleges and its industry partners that
|
0003| ensures equitable distribution of funds with respect to statewide
|
0004| geographic distribution and diversity of industry partners.",
|
0005|
|
0006| and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE
|
0007| COMMITTEE.
