0006| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0007|      Section 1.  Section 66-3-413 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1980, Chapter
    |
0008| 45, Section 1, as amended) is amended to read:
    |
0009|      "66-3-413.  SPECIAL REGISTRATION PLATES.--
    |
0010|           A.  The division shall issue distinctive registration plates
    |
0011| to any person who is an active or retired member of the New Mexico
    |
0012| national guard, upon the submission by the person of proof
    |
0013| satisfactory to the division that he is an active or retired member of
    |
0014| the guard.  No fee shall be collected for issuance of a special
    |
0015| registration plate pursuant to this section.
    |
0016|           B.  No person shall falsely represent himself to be an
    |
0017| active or retired member of the New Mexico national guard so as to be
    |
0018| eligible to be issued special registration plates pursuant to this
    |
0019| section when he in fact is not an active or retired member of the New
    |
0020| Mexico national guard.
    |
0021|           C.  Any person who violates the provisions of
    |
0022| Subsection B of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor."
